“When I met my wife, it was truly ‘love at
first sight’. She was sweet, pretty, hard-working, smart and simply perfect.
I’d met none like her before and I knew I was going to do everything to get her
to marry me. When I finally proposed and she said yes, we were both ecstatic
and happily, the plans for our dream wedding was set in motion.
We travelled abroad to shop for our big day
and a lot of money was spent on our wedding outfits and other accessories. We
had the resources and wanted the best for that day. A few weeks before the
wedding, my fiancée noticed that her appetite was unusually large and she was
gaining a lot of weight. Eventually, a friend suggested that she might be
pregnant and we took a test which confirmed it.
We were happy to be pregnant but it was still
over two months to our wedding date. At the rate she was going, it was obvious
she would not fit into her wedding dress – a dress we’d paid a lot of money for
and didn’t want to risk ruining with alterations. We took a decision that
changed the course of our lives.
Together, we agreed that we still had many
more kids in our future so could afford to let this one go. I didn’t want my
wife’s fantastic figure in her beautiful, expensive wedding dress to be marred
by a big stomach. Besides, we both hated wedding pictures with pregnant brides
who looked more harassed than happy. We wanted a perfect day so decided that a
quick abortion to take care of our little premature pregnancy problem would
solve it. And it did because we did have a perfect day indeed.
It’s twenty years since our wedding and we’re
still childless. Strangely, as every year ends with disappointment, we’ve
never discussed the decision we took almost twenty one years ago. I think we’re afraid to talk about it because we both believe that decision changed our lives and cost us our real happiness. I know my wife
prays for forgiveness as do I but somehow, I feel God might never forgive us
for doing something so stupid – choosing a dress over a life. I’ve certainly
never forgiven myself.

Very sad story. It might not be enough to attribute your tibulations to the bad act of twenty years ago. The child might still not have lived after birth. God does things in mysterious ways. Chances are that you may have come to more grief if you had kept the baby. No one knows, for us every thing is on the realm of conjecture and speculation. God knows everything. What you did was very bad considering the circummstances but other people have done worse and have not been punished as severely, severely I say because you have been deprived of what you cherish-children, but some people do not want children, so will this situation be a punishment for them?.Continue trusting and believing God, He will act in His time.
Did this actually happen? What kind of murderous irresponsibilty is that? Or is it silly vanity? I do not know whether I am qualified to call it Karmic effect, because I am also a sinner but your deed beggars belief.
This man you sound like a priest when you are obviously not one. These people murdered thei baby and are paying the price. The good thing is that they know.
I kind of get what Ichele Aki is saying. People have done worse and not reaped a consequence like this so their childlessness might not be the result of their actions those many years ago. But wow. Some people have guts. To have an abortion just to look pretty in a dress. It's just ridiculous. You're getting married , not even that you're single and want to hide your shame but you're a legitimate couple. It's just ridiculous and I feel sorry for them. What's done is done so they should just live with it and pray

Very sad story. One has to be very careful with decisions like this in life so as to avoid situations like this. I hope and pray that the Almighty God forgives them of their folly and bless them with their heart's desire.
