Ridiculousness is what I found along my path to salvation

For many years, I have been searching for answers to my problem – business and personal. And in those years, I have been to many powerful prayer warriors in my quest for solutions. However, a recent event with one of my ‘prayer warriors’ instilled me with doubts about my ‘waka-about’.

During the fellowships which held at her home, she would make us give monetary offerings so many times that many of us wizened up and began to bring small notes to fellowship so that our total offering would not exceed whatever our day’s ‘budget’ was. Well, we were not the only wise ones because she started making us raise our money to the heavens as we walked to the offering basket. People with very small denominations would be yabbed by her so the strategy was pretty effective as we had to abandon the very small notes to avoid her yabs.

Sometimes, she would see visions relating to your problems and ask you to bring certain ‘offerings’ to God to support her prayers for you. I hoped she would see visions relating to me and one day, she did. She asked me to bring some food items as my offerings and amongst them was a live chicken. There were others who brought same type of offerings on that particular day as well and we placed everything at a corner while we prayed. In between, I was shocked when she began to crack jokes about the offerings; she pointed at the different chickens and began to talk about the various dishes which would be sweetened with them. Imagine! And she was laughing about it. I couldn’t believe my ears. She could not even wait for us to leave before she started planning the dishes she would cook with our ‘offerings’. Honestly, I think that day was the last straw for me and as I left, I didn’t look back.
