Man machetes wife to death

 

A man who was identified by the Nigerian police as Sunday Eze (Jnr) has reportedly macheted his wife to death after a slight misunderstanding between them. Eze, allegedly killed his wife in the presence of their only child, 11 year old Onyebuchi Eze, who had pleaded with him not to do it.

It is said that the alleged wife killed had a mental problem before the incident and constantly threatened to kill his wife each time they had any disagreement.

Police sources quoted the son as stating that his parents had quarrels that night before his father used his machete and killed his ‘mummy’ adding, “I rushed him and pleaded but he did not listen to me. He stabbed my mother severally both on the head and legs on seeing that mummy is dead, he asked me to go to his elder brother’s residence, and tell them what has happened while he also moved to the nearby neighbours to inform them.”

According to police sources, Onyebuchi complied as directed by his father but when he came back, the father had escaped. He was caught three days later by a community search party.
