“This cute guy had been asking me out for a
while but I kept putting him off. One day, I was out with friends at an event
when he called to ask where I was. I told him and he came over; he wanted us to
go out for drinks but I was reluctant. I was, and still am, a very shy person
so it’s hard for me to get comfortable with people I didn’t know so well
especially members of the opposite sex. My friends urged me to go, saying he
was cute and I needed to get out more often. I left with him.
I was wearing this very pretty yellow dress
which flattered me in all the right places. It was early evening so the bar we
went to was still a bit empty which I liked. We chatted for a while before I
started feeling an uncomfortable dampness. I tried to stay with the
conversation but the discomfort persisted.
Minutes later, I was forced to get up and
check as my body whispered louder in my ears. I mumbled an excuse and stood up
and once I did, I knew it had happened – I was stained by my period. I winced;
there was no way to hide it because of the dress color and there was no scarf
or jacket between us that could have helped me cover some of my shame. Seeing
my face, he asked what the problem was and reluctantly, I told him. My period
was due in about four days so I didn’t understand why it chose that moment or
month to come early. I looked behind my dress and saw a huge red mark. I was so
embarrassed and wished the ground would open and swallow me but of course, the
floors ignored my wishes and stayed in place.
Surprisingly, he stood up, told me to walk
directly in front of him as he escorted me to the rest room. He got one of the
waitresses to buy me sanitary towels while I washed out the back of my dress.
He convinced me to let the dress dry a bit and while I waited, he stood by the
rest room door and chatted with me. His casual take on the whole thing helped
me overcome my embarrassment and I was so grateful. That date marked the start of a two year
relationship and though we’ve gone our separate ways romantically, we remain
very good friends almost twenty years after so I guess something good came out of my embarrassing
moment.”

Yeah these things happen, I remember my own similar experience, but it was with 'shit'. Unfortunately for me no romance ensued. I just said then 'shit happemns' and moved on. Lucky you, you had a 'romantic bonus' for two years.
My friend are you a guy or a lady? You sound very jealous.
An interesting story, such a nice guy to keep watch at the toilet door while you did the "ladies things". No wander you still remained friends with him ever after. A lot of other guys would have acted in an embarrassing manner.
Hi Anon 10:51. I'd like to get your story about the 'shit happens' incident. Your tone sounds funny so I suspect there's a great tale behind that 'shit'. Care to share it? I'll do the writing so you dont have to worry about that. Let me know. My email is at the top - contact me header. Cheers and thanks
This story is sweet. Awwww...nice guy. I wondered why the relationship ended though. Good fo you girl. Many of us have horror stories about getting 'stained' by our periods.
Unfortunately I do not contribute stories to other peoples blog, I just comment and express my opinion. I believe that should make you happy enough.
No worries to Anon 10:51. Just thought it'd be fun to share especially since this can be done anonymously. And I am grateful and happy you take the time to comment. Cheers and keep checking out the blog
Maybe the guy was not as nice as he pretended at the time. Or he moved on to look for another girl in period distress. No puns - just hazarding a guess.
