Singled out by God and how it happened

“Last year, my friend had a miscarriage and she was pretty hurt by it. But being a spiritual person, she chalked it up under the list of “It wasn’t meant to be” and moved on. Less than a year after, she got pregnant again; she was overjoyed.

Usually, her parish organized spiritual retreats every quarter which she always attended but on one of the retreats, something happened.

She had been particularly tired that night so didn’t want to go to church but something kept telling her to, even if briefly. Her usual seating position was the middle area but that night, she opted to sit at the back to ease an early escape. During the sermon, she dozed off and as she slept, she kept hearing a voice that seemed to call out to her.  It kept on until she woke up only to hear the priest talking about a woman who’d miscarried not too long ago but was pregnant again. The priest was pointing at the back area and saying that the lady was sitting there and he wanted her to come out for prayers because her current pregnancy was in danger again. She was surprised. She didn’t want to get up especially as she was right at the back of the church but when the priest kept insisting that it was important the ‘lady’ came out for special prayers to avoid losing her baby, she just had to get up and walk all the way down the long aisle to the altar. Prayers were said for her, olive oil was used to anoint her and the priest assured that whatever was about to happen had been caught in time so she was okay.

A few months after, she had her beautiful baby and the process was ‘complication free’. She kept saying she’d been to many retreats and nothing like this had ever happened to her. It was truly a miraculous day when God singled her out and she was so grateful for it."
